Prophet Ayyub عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام and Beautiful Patience

Prophet Ayyub (peace be upon him) had a big family, lots of animals, fields and good health. Every day he thanked Allah for all his blessings. He was kind and always helped people in need.

Then Allah tested Ayyub (pbuh). He lost his wealth, then his children, and then he became very ill for a long, long time. Most people left him, but his loving wife stayed by his side and looked after him.

Even when he was in pain, Ayyub (pbuh) never complained. He kept praising Allah and remembering Him. He only called out gently to Allah and asked for His mercy.

Allah heard Ayyub’s (pbuh) dua. He told him to strike the ground with his foot, and a cool spring of water came out. Ayyub (pbuh) washed and drank from it, and he became completely healthy again.

Allah gave Ayyub (pbuh) his family back and blessed him with even more than before. In the Quran, Allah says, “We found him patient. What an excellent servant!”
